FOOTBATH: In Kneipp therapy baths, the warm footbath is used for a variety of therapies.
In most public saunas, the foot baths have a depth of approx. 20 cm.
The bath can be filled with lukewarm to hot water, as desired, up to a circulation bath with filtered and chlorinated water.
The effect of the footbath is based on the so-called "foot sole reflex". By simulating the nerve endings under the feet, a reflex action is triggered throughout the body, the skin relaxes and the pores open and the sweat glands begin to work.
During and after a warm footbath, one feels comfortable and relaxed.
A warm footbath is taken at the beginning of the sauna bath, before entering the sauna and is therefore intended to warm you up in preparation for the sauna session.
After cooling down, the footbath should restore a comfortable and warm feeling over the entire body.
Can also have a disinfecting effect in public sauna rooms.
